Slang Dictionary -Part 3
A-one: Meaning good or just something that you think is good. For example, “Damn! Shorty look A-one…”
One hundo: Slang for one hundred. For example, a common phrase that’s most said is “I’m A-one hundo,” meaning I’m doing good at a hundred percent.
One thousand: Another slang term for agreement or claiming proof of certification in the streets. For example, “This nigga one thousand, FAM!”
Street certified: Basically saying a person is a thoroughbred person, an alpha male in the street life, a real gangster.
On gang: Just saying something to state a fact or truth. For example, “This nigga got pussy on gang, FAM!”
Tatted up: A person with a lot of tattoos.
Inky: Another slang term for a person with a lot of tattoos.
Lab: Short for laboratory, but it’s used to say you are going into a studio to rap or going into a studio to get tattooed. So you will hear, “I’m going into the lab, FAM!”Na!
For real for real!: An agreement, basically. So if you say, “Mayne, shorty look really good, FAM!” Na for real for real! Just an example.
Na real life: Also used as an agreement or statement of truth. For example, you will hear, “This nigga stomp down, na! Real life!” So anytime you state a fact or truth, you will hear this phrase.
Paper: Another word for money. For example, “Let’s get this paper, FAM!”
Paper chaser: Meaning a person investing his whole time or life to get money.
Benjamins: Another word for money. Also, Benjamin Franklin is on the hundred dollar bill, so this is where the word came about.
Playa: Basically another word for a womanizer.
Playboy: Also another term for womanizer but can be used to address someone. For example, “What’s good, playboy?”Do ya hear me?: Another term for an agreement, which is also commonly said. For example, “She is beautiful,” to which you might respond, “Do ya hear me?”
That’s dope: Like saying that is cool orlooks awesome or is awesome.Dope: Another term for drugs.Dope fiend: Meaning drug addict.Stacks: It’s like saying you have money saved. So you will hear, “I got stacks, FAM,” or theperson may be boasting, saying he has a lot of money.
Bando: Short for an abandoned apartment.
Ice water: Meaning being really good at something or being talented. For example, “That niggaice water, FAM!”
Mobbing it: Meaning walking, but more likely walking in the life of a mobster.
Shooting slugs: Meaning saying things or words in a disrespectful, instigating way. For example, “This pussy ass nigga got pussy in his heart.” Notice the person didn’t say who or directly address anyone; this is called shooting a slug.
Capping: Another slang term for lying.
No cap: Basically saying something with all honesty or saying a statement that is true. For example, “Those shoes look good, no cap!” or “She is beautiful, no cap.”
Clean: Meaning something that looks brand new or looks good.
Fresh: Another term for saying something that looks brand new or looks good.
Nasty: Another way of saying something looks good (yes, the opposite of nasty). For example, “Oooh, those shoes look nasty, FAM!…”
One time: A word for the police, which I always thought because if you get caught and you’re dirty, well, all it takes is one time, and you’re arrested and you are gone.
Twelve: Another term for the police but can also mean love because 12 is L, the 12th letter of the alphabet. Most Bloods or Pirus say this phrase a lot: “12 dog,” basically saying, “I love you, dog.”
Creeping: This can mean sneaking up on an enemy, but it’s also used to say cheating. Like, “I think my girl creeping on me, fam.”
Cash money: Basically meaning a guy speaking or acting in a conceited or boastful way. For example, “Nah, homie, this fool talking cash money; let’s see what he’s talking about.” Trying to test if he really is about what he’s talking about.
