Slang Dictionary- Part 4
Slide: Used to address an action against an enemy. For example, “I’m sliding on this hoe tonight…”
Smoked: Meaning someone got killed or beat up really badly.
Spit: This term is used to say you got shot at or shot someone. For example, “Last night those niggas spit on us, FAM!”
Ride: In the streets, this term is used to indicate that you will commit a crime. In prison, especially in Texas, riding means you are protected by someone, often for a price.” Riding under someone” is not good; it’s a term associated with homosexuals and cowards and is looked down upon in prison as cowardice.
Spray: Another term used to describe shooting or shootings. For example, “I sprayed them hoes last night,” or “I almost got sprayed last night.”
Burner: A gun. If you get shot, it burns, so they call it a burner. It can also refer to a gun that has been used so much it’s “burnt,” meaning it has been used for many crimes.
Ghost Gun: A gun that has no serial number on it, basically an unregistered gun. Hence, the term “ghost gun.”
Stick: In Florida, it’s used as another name for an AK-47, but it can also refer to a cigarette or blunt.
Chopper: Another word for an AK-47 or any kind of automatic assault rifle.
Bruh:Another word for brother.
Whip: Another word for a vehicle.
Put a Nigga in That Blender: A phrase used to say you will beat up someone.
Going Into That Bowl: In prison, “spread” is a thing, so when you cook a spread, it’s basically a bunch of stuff all mixed together. When they say this, they mean they are going to beat you up with multiple people together.
Push That Steel: A phrase used to say you are going to stab someone, or you can say, “I am going to put that steel in your life.”
Clapping: Another term used to say you are getting shot at or, the other way around, you are shooting at someone.
Red Dot: A lighter used to light a cigarette. For example, “Nigga, give me a red dot,FAM, trying to light one up.”
Light Your Ass Up: Another phrase used to say you will shoot somebody or something.
Burnt: Can mean you caught a sexually transmitted disease but also can mean you are under investigation from the police, FBI, or any agency.
The Block Is Hot: Can mean more than one thing, but in the hood, it is more commonly used to say the neighborhood you live in has a lot of police around. It can also be used to say a party was good, a female is attractive, or that the police are looking for you. Hence, the term can be used to say your gun is “hot” from too many shootings or because it was used for too much crime.
Drank: Another word for alcohol or the cough syrup you drink to get high.
Dirty: A term used a lot in San Antonio, similar to “nigga,” so a person or friend will address you as “dirty.”For example, “What’s up, dirty?” or “Say, dirty, that female looks good.” It doesn’t necessarily mean you are dirty; it’s used to address or call a friend.
Loco: Mexicans use this term a lot, meaning “crazy” in Spanish. But it’s also used to address or call a friend. For example, “What’s up, loco?” similar to “nigga” or “dirty.”
